Frequently asked questions

  • Does hifaaz cost anything?

No. Learning, reading, all reciters and translations are free and without ads.

  • Which reciters are there?

24 well-known reciters, including Mahmoud Al-Husary, Mishary Alafasy, Abdul Basit and Abdurrahman As-Sudais. You can listen to a sample of each one.

  • How do reviews work?

Every surah you learn comes back at growing intervals: after 1, 2, 4 and 7 days, then after 2 weeks, a month and finally after several months. If a surah isn’t solid yet, it comes back sooner. That way everything stays firm without you having to review everything every day.

  • Do I have to record myself?

No. In the test you can simply recite the verse and reveal it. Recording is only there if you want to compare yourself with the reciter – and it never leaves your device.

  • Do I need an internet connection?

Verses are streamed for playback. For on the go, you can download single surahs or the whole Quran – then everything works offline too.

  • Which languages is hifaaz available in?

The app and the translations are available in English, German, French, Arabic, Turkish and Kurdish (Sorani). You can choose the tafsir independently.

  • Is my data collected?

No. There is no account and no tracking; your progress stays on your device. More in the privacy policy.

  • Is hifaaz available for Android?

The Android version is in the works and is coming soon to Google Play.

  • Where can I send ideas or bugs?

Write to us at hifaaz@daar.studio or directly in the app under Settings → “Send a suggestion or report a bug”.
